I didn't want to cheer to soon, but I've been almost binge free and
losing weight for a month now. Before it never worked out so well, but I
am realizing now what the difference is: I am on insulin...
Before I would have cravings for sugars and carbs like crazy, eat some,
my bloodsugar would soar up and then crash down, and then I had cravings
again. i know normally eating a low carb diet ought to have stopped
those cravings but not in my state without insulin. Now that I'm using
insulin, my sugars are much more even, and the cravings do not feel like
they are from hell anymore. They're just at a more manageable level.
I have no idea what this means or what it is, but I'm thinking I've had
struggles with diabetes much longer than it seems because I was working
so hard with low carb to keep a balance. Now low carb almost comes
naturally. And I have done the 'everything in moderation' before too
(before the insulin too though) and that didn't work at all. I'm not
going to mess with something that's working now though and will keep at
the keto diet, that works the best for me.
So far, in a month, about 10 pounds, tomorrow I'll know more, but that
is a very good amount of weightloss for me. After having been stuck at
the same weight despite working so hard, it is wonderful. I feel so much
more even keeled. I always thought I should avoid injecting insulin
like the plague but it turned out not to be true.
